Airport service provider OmniServ, a subsidiary of facilities management company ABM Industries, has been awarded a three-year contract to undertake the provision of services for persons with reduced mobility (PRMs) at Edinburgh Airport in Scotland.

OmniServ has similar operations at London Heathrow and London Stansted airports, where it has developed a bespoke technology system to capture passenger information and specific assistance requirements. This enables the company, through intensive customer care training, to have its employees provide a personalized and efficient service to each passenger.

The PRM services will complement the existing customer services provided by OmniServ at the airport including its Welcome Team Ambassadors. The new PRM contract commences on March 14, 2016, and has the option of being extended by another two years if required.

Antony Marke, managing director, OmniServ, said, “In awarding OmniServ this contract, Edinburgh Airport has demonstrated its confidence in our ability to effect a smooth and seamless transition, while providing an enhanced customer experience as part of the Edinburgh Airport customer charter, the airport where Scotland meets the world.”

Gordon Dewar, chief executive, Edinburgh Airport, said, “The wellbeing of all our passengers – including those with reduced mobility – is of prime importance to everyone at Edinburgh Airport and I am delighted to partner with OmniServ in providing this essential service.

“We want our passengers to know that they are in safe hands during every stage of their journey and I’m confident that OmniServ will help deliver just that.”
