Acronis has announced the appointment of Sussie Thorenfeldt as distribution sales manager, where she will be tasked with building relationships with distributors across UK & Ireland, Benelux and the Nordics to drive the company’s cloud security offerings.

Her experience spans distribution, reseller and channel management, international sales management, partnerships and business development, and she previously worked as EMEA distribution and partner, key account manager, for Acer.

“Through my previous roles and experience I know that hardware is ‘just’ a commodity, and is set to be even more so in the future,” said Thorenfeldt.

“For me, the future is in software. The cloud has been talked about for many years but now we are finally seeing customers adjust to it. So when the opportunity came up to work for Acronis in expanding the cloud to partners, it seemed the right time for me to make the leap.”

Thorenfeldt will be reporting to Acronis’s senior partner director of Northern Europe, Dirk Raeymaekers, who commented that bringing her onboard is a key part of the company’s channel strategy.

“Sussie’s appointment is a key element of our plans to cement our position as the global experts and thought leaders on cloud-based security and support through an increased focus on working closely with partners,” Raeymaekers said.

“With her proven track record and in-depth experience of managing partner and channel programmes, Sussie is a welcome addition to the Acronis team and we look forward to working with her in expanding our cloud distribution across Northern Europe.”
